What is the Perfect Thermostat Temperature?

Is there a perfect thermostat temperature? Maybe not in a sense that one-size fits all. The perfect temperature is going to depend on your personal comfort levels, if you have pets or plants in the home, and how efficient you are trying to be.

In the summertime, it is recommended to keep your thermostat between 70-78 degrees. If you have pets, 64-78 degrees is ideal, but this will depend on the type of pet you have as well. For most indoor plants, 60-75 degrees is a good range. But, if you are looking to save some extra money, 78 degrees is likely the temperature you will want in your home.

78 degrees may feel pretty warm to some, but if you turn on ceiling fans and other fans throughout your home, you can may not even notice it. Studies show that ceiling fans can allow you to raise your thermostat up to 4 degrees without a noticeable difference in comfort.

Additionally, each 1 degree that you turn your thermostat up (for 8 hours) equals a 1 percent savings in energy. That means you could be saving around 4% on your AC energy consumption!
